------------------------------------ There was a large painting of Evel Knievel shaking hands with Richard Nixon. It hung in the Mayors office. Late one evening after everyone went home. I took it down to the lab. I zoomed in on Evel’s left eye a 100x and enhanced it. It was an address. I went to the address. It was a modest, 1970’s style, split level ranch home in the suburbs.

----------------------------------- Inside I found a dead parrot lying on a waterbed. I revived the parrot with some saltines and adrenaline. We became good friends. The parrots name was Randy. One night a few years later while Randy and me played Gin Rummy, he sang me a song about a fire. The title of this blog was never mentioned but I sensed it, and Randy confirmed it by giving me ‘THE LOOK’.

soupsoup: texturism: A Home In Haiti: In just a few days, it will begin to rain regularly in Haiti. Could you imagine living outside, permanently, in the rain, with nothing but cloth sheets held up by sticks to protect you? Currently, this is set to be the very harsh reality for over 700,000 Haitian men, women, and children who still have nothing to protect them from the elements. When you purchase *waterproof tents or donate cash directly, it will provide an immediate home in Haiti for people that so desperately need it. These tents are Phase 1 of our long-term project, but are not debatable or optional. *i just purchased a tent for three people. i have lived in the same apartment for four years and no matter what kind of day i have - when i walk through the front door - the feeling of home is appreciated. everything feels a little bit better. i can’t imagine what life would feel like if something took my home without warning! vulnerable. I raided my hooker fund and got a nice 8x10 tent - only 69.99 - you can by a tent directly from amazon through the site and have it shipped directly to the church in Atlanta - give a family a simple home =)
